Where to buy organics

findorganics

Throughout New Zealand organic products are finding their way on to the shelves of all kinds of stores:

Specialty organic stores

Some organic retailers have taken the step of becoming BioGro-certified. This means they have systems and procedures in place to ensure there is no contamination of organic products by non-organic products. This is another reassurance for consumers that the organic products they buy are authentic. BioGro-certified retailers are showing you how committed they are to organics:

Farmers' markets

More and more organic suppliers are selling their products at local farmer's markets but if you want to be sure that what you’re buying is organic remember to look for our logo because some suppliers claim to be organic without being certified.

Online stores

You can order many organic products online and have them delivered to your door.

Wine shops/liquor stores

Ask to see their range of organic wine and beer.

Supermarkets

Many supermarkets have an aisle or at least a few shelves dedicated to organics. If your local supermarket doesn’t supply an organic product you’d like to buy, ask them to stock it for you. The more customers who demand organics, the more supermarkets will supply.

Department stores

Many department stores stock a wide range of organic body and skincare products.

Producer Profile

Millton Vineyards and Winery (BioGro No.99)

Organic winemaking pioneer James Millton sees BioGro as a profound and internationally recognized trademark. ‘Being certified as biodynamic is one thing, but getting into particular markets is more difficult, hence the need to be certified organic by BioGro’.
