Our philosophy/history/values

In 1983, The Soil & Health Association, Bio-Dynamic Farming & Gardening Association of New Zealand, and the Henry Doubleday Research Association formed the New Zealand Biological Producers and Consumers Council (now a Society) trading as BioGro. Its vision and philosophy has since shaped the organic industry New Zealand knows today.

The Council's primary objective was to develop and maintain a credible and internationally respected organic standard and certification process, and to safeguard the interests of producers and consumers.

Our founding philosophy and values are as fundamental to our success now as they were 28 years ago:

  • Integrity and belief in what we do
  • A total commitment to and passion for organics
  • Care of our clients (certified producers), our staff & environment.
